Tiger in a Bubble
Tiger in a Bubble - Post AVCON

Wow hasn't it been a long time since this website has been updated with the progress of Tiger in a Bubble. Well, it is partly because the progress of the game is now being tracked on the Sloth Creations facebook page - www.facebook.com/SlothCreations

Besides working on the game, we have just finished showcasing Tiger in a Bubble at this years AVCON in Adelaide in South Australia. This went fairly well, and we received some great feedback.
I must say that the play testing there was very successful. By watching others play the game, we learnt alot about level design and how to improve our current levels. As far as bugs go, we did have 4 glitches that did occur which we do not understand why or how they happened, and the game only crashed once ( within the last 2 hours of the final day of the show :-(  )

Now onto the progress of game, from the youtube videos below (about a month old now) you can see that the game has progressed a fair bit.

The tiger looks a bit more like a tiger now.
Sound and music have been added, some may need to be improved still.
Menu systems have been implemented
Dynamic gravity system is working perfectly.
Support for gaming controller.
Portals to move to next level.
Items to collect.

Tiger in a Bubble - multiplayer

It has been decided that Tiger in a Bubble will include a multiplayer aspect.
This opens up a wide variety of gameplay advantages including co-op maps, team based maps, deathmatch, etc.

We have got a working client and server system which is almost ready to be integrated with the main source of Tiger in a Bubble. We have significantly improved game speed which will be helpful with the lag caused by networking. We have implemented a system which makes sure that players move around at the exact same speed no matter what computer they are playing on, so that the game is totally fair for all gamers.

Tiger in a Bubble - progress report 2

The games collision system has been rewritten; making it faster, smoother and more accurate.
There is now a new type of gravity handling used in this game; resulting in a much more realistic feel than before - but there is still no system for the floating.
The game world has been lightened up a bit.
A new dynamic entity has been created - a moving platform.
Level end points have been implemented which take the player to the next level.
Cleanup code for cleaning up the current level ready for the new level has been implemented and appears to be working - needs more thorough testing though.
The player can customize the colour of the bubble.

Tiger in a Bubble

A new game, Tiger in a Bubble, is being designed.
This game revolves around the main character, a tiger, who rolls around the fantasy world in a bubble.

It is a puzzle based platform game.

You play though levels with a goal to reach. Each level involves side activities for the player to participate in, which in turn reward the player with bonuses for use within the game.

The size of your bubble varies by the amount of bubbles which you soak up. The size of your bubble also determins your weight. If you soak up too many bubbles you start to rise off the ground and float, this brings a whole new dimension of the level for you to explore.
